I am a career journalist whose mission is to help people understand data.

I have combined my reporting skills with coding skills to become a versatile data journalist and problem solver.

I helped create and oversee the content marketing program for my firm, which draws readers and praise alike from a LinkedIn group that we’ve grown to more than 9,000 members.

I built and oversaw the company’s website from 2012 to 2018, incorporating e-commerce and subscription functionality. The site accounted for a significant portion of sales. I also created how-to documents to help coworkers with software.

My data skills continue to expand, and I graduated in January 2018 from LaunchCode’s CoderGirl program in the SQL Server database track. The yearlong program provided six months of T-SQL training and six months of project work. My project looked at U.S. horse data by state, along with relevant government data.

My previous roles in news media have ranged from reporting and editing to newspaper design and online production.

I also shoot and edit video, create surveys, send out e-newsletters, manage social media and handle any assignment with a quick turnaround.

Specialties: Program in HTML, CSS, PHP, and JavaScript. Build and manage SQL databases. Work with Final Cut Pro, InDesign, Quark, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, and the Microsoft Office suite. Highly skilled in formatting graphics. Work on Macs and PCs.
